Wendy Williams was born on July 18, 1964 in Asbury Park, New Jersey. She has 2 elder siblings Wanda Williams and Thomas Williams Jr., making her the youngest amongst them. Her father was in the Police and her mother was a nurse. Williams was 5 years of age when her family moved to Ocean Township, New Jersey.

While she was just a child, her parents got separated due to which she spent most of her time with her mother. During her early years, she suffered from ADHD and had to be on medication to control her health issues. Her parents forced her to have strict diets so that her weight gain can be put under control.

After her high school, she went to Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1982. In 1986, she did a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Communication & Journalism with an intention to become a TV host. During her graduation, she produced her very first Radio gig for 104.9 FM, her institute’s radio station.
